Omulost!

Song: Friday I'm in love
Who watched Lost last night?! Dave wouldn't let me talk about it because he hasn't watched it yet. =P
I'm glad they did the recap cuz after all these Lost-less months, I've forgotten quite a lot! Jen and I spent the commercial breaks texting each other about the show. After watching TV shows on DVD's and Tivo, my patience for commercials has disappeared.
Btw, if Lost is on Thursdays on 9pm now, when is Grey's on? Anyone know what's going on?
We'll be having a Superbowl party at the boy's house. I don't even follow football but any excuse for friends to get together for food and drink is fine by me! Good thing both of us love to entertain and have lots of people over. I talk as if it is my house too. Ha! But hey, I treat it like my own because I'm always there early cooking and leave late after cleaning up. I like being a hostess. So our Superbowl menu is as follows:
The boy's - pulled pork, ribs, hot dogs, grilled zucchini (this one is my request but he's the grill master)
Mine - homemade guacamole, salsa & chips, spinach & cheese calzones (for our vegetarian friends), maybe bruschetta if I have time.
We'll also have homemade cookies & cream ice cream cuz the boy has an ice cream making attachment for the stand mixer. We both love our Kitchen Aids!
Have a happy Superbowl weekend!

I'm hosting the Super Bowl party (I have the big TV so it falls to me.) I'm making my standard chili (no beans) as well as a white bean chili for a couple of veggies who are coming along. My buddy Tim is making is patented "Pats always win when I make these" chicken tenders, which we will fry up at halftime. And I just saw a recipe for guacamole that I really liked, so I think that's gonna happen too.
FWIW, I have two very good Korean friends, and they both LOVE to grill. I don't think this is a coincidence.
Grilled zucchini rocks. Actually almost any vegetable is made better with some oil, salt and pepper and a few minutes over fire. Pam and I lived off roasted veggies this past summer.
that's how i started watching lost too and i spent many nights watching episode after episode after episode....
mmm chicken tenders~ the boy makes a pretty good chili but it didn't fit into this menu. too much going on already. cooking for veggies is a little harder cuz i actually have to think of new meatless things to make. you don't realize just how many dishes have meat in them until you have veggies coming over!
so you guys are rooting for the pats huh? i'm not a football fan at all but i gotta go with my hometown. it'll be like our yankees/red sox rivalry. =D
what's fwiw? my brother loves to grill too. what is it about korean men & grilling? as if they're not testosterony enough already. =D
i convinved the boy to make grilled zucchini a couple of weeks ago when we had friends over and our veggie friends loved it. well so did i and i think i ended up eating most of it. =D
For What Its Worth
As my wife says, all men love to cook when it involves a certain amount of danger. Grilling fits the bill.
The secret for zucchini....Montreal Steak seasoning...trust me on this.
I'm so glad Lost is back!!! Last night's ep did not disappoint ... I can barely stand waiting another week to see what happens next!!!
And yay for KitchenAid mixers!!!
jeff - woo hoo giants!! it was a really exciting game. i'm gonna have to try out your montreal steak seasoning + zucchini idea.
guycita - i just realized i'll miss lost next week. good thing for recorded shows! and although i'll watch it later, i'll get to see it without the commercials.
don't hate =)
you have to admit, that was an exciting game!
